Hey, friend!

OOooo boy, I'm working on something I'm really having a ton of fun building.

I keep having guests on Pragmatic AI who talk about using AI to build apps in technologies they don't know yet. So when I had an idea for an app in a technology I've always wanted to know, I figured I'd try it out.

I prompt and I read all the code before committing. I'm building much faster than I would if I was learning it from scratch. Upside: More satisfaction. Downside: Comprehension is good, but my ability to reproduce this code is pretty low. My ability to review it and make sure it's done *right* is also pretty low.

It's a fun experiment. I definitely see the value here.

But more importantly, I'm having so much fun programming this thing. I cannot wait to share it with you all in the next few months. You'll definitely laugh at me, but it'll also be a lot of fun.

  • I've helped several people trying to get tech jobs in the last few years. It's *hard* out there, and IMHO AI is only making it harder. I hate it, and want to help lead companies to invest in more entry-level folks, but agree with Taylor: If you're looking to break in... build! (Quote Tweet)

  • I'm so grateful @jeffrey_way  was willing to invest in sharing this all for free. In case you haven't checked it out yet--I shared enough in here that it made me very nervous I was sharing all the secret sauce. But now that I've shared it, you might as well get the goodies! (Quote Tweet)

  • Most content about AI is either practical (how to use it) or hypothetical (AGI TOMORROW). We tried to write something that would be *informational*. What even is AI? Why should and shouldn't we use it? Broad strokes how to use it in dev? And what's its future? Take a look. (Quote Tweet)

That's it for now!
