OK, so I asked what y'all thought about me writing more business-focused stuff, and got an overwhelmingly positive response. So, right when I finish writing this, I'm going to get started writing on the Tighten Newsletter.

Bluesky

I don't talk about social media that much, but dang, the current growth of the Bluesky community of developers is the first time I've really been hopeful something can supplant the value of Twitter. I'm not saying it will.. but it could. If you go there, come find me!

Election

There's an election coming up. Next week. I'll actually be in Australia for Laracon AU during election day. I don't really know what to say other than: If you're in the U.S., and you value our democracy, vote for anyone but Trump. That's it. I have other political opinions, but that's the one that matters.

Twitch

Oh, one final fun note: I met a bunch of people who Twitch stream programming recently. I remember back when I streamed programming on Twitch; it was hard to build a community, because so few people used it for programming back then. But... when was back then? I looked it up, and it turns out my earliest streams (that I still have archives of on YouTube, at least) were in late 2015. That's an entire era ago.

I'm not going to hide it, I've been tempted to stream again over the last few months. Probably won't. But I almost set up my Twitch setup again last week to stream building an integration between a Laravel app and Bluesky. And I'm still thinking about it today...
