Hey, friend!

IT. IS. AUTUMN.

I am delighted.

I'm from Michigan and nothing kicks up more nostalgia than autumn: cool breezes, cold mornings, leaves changing, and everything apple. Apple cider. Apple crisp. Apple cider donuts. All the apples.

I was able to kick off my autumn with a trip up to Omaha to meet my fiancée Imani's family, and while we were there she took me to a huge pumpkin patch called Vala's that she loved as a kid. It was everything I needed, and since then I've been taking every free moment I get to breathe in the cooling air before it gets too cold to be comfortable outside for long.

My friend Ben shared a video with me of him working on his laptop from a hammock surrounded by gorgeous autumn trees, so that's my new goal: to find where my as-of-yet-unused hammock is, to find a nearby park with a beautiful view (I think I already know the one–it's two blocks from my house!), and try working from there a little. Anything to get out of this house!

We hired three new folks at Tighten; my book is live in stores and in people's hands; and I'm getting married in three months. Once again, everything's turning up Matt!

• It’s just starting to cool down in Atlanta, and our trees are only now beginning to change colors. Do you have an album or an artist that you really love to listen to when Autumn first hits? I’m trying to get into my autumn energy. Help me out! (Tweet)
