You wanted more regular, simpler content. I'm gonna give it to you.

Hey, friend!

I had a really great idea for how I can send this newsletter out more regularly: I'm going to do a much better job of automating tracking all of the content I'm liking and creating so I can have a really nice and robust links list, and I'm going to drastically lessen the responsibility I put on myself to have something deep to write every newsletter. Sound good?

I'm almost 100% sure I asked y'all in a previous newsletter if you like the idea and you said "yes" and then I didn't do it. So. Let's try this again!

A few quick updates:

Laravel Podcast Season Four

After months, I finally picked an intro song for the Laravel Podcast, Season Four, so I could finally start recording it. We're a few episodes in, and it's going great!

Released every other week, this season covers one topic (a major facet of Laravel development each time) per episode, featuring a guest who's an expert on that topic, trying to talk about it in a way that's both interesting for old-heads but also really helpful for newcomers.

Onramp

Onramp is days-to-weeks away from the official launch announcement! It's been usable for months, but there were two things I wanted to get right before we "launch" it:

1. Getting all the content in there, and the ability to check off content as you consume it
2. Getting a real design

Thanks to hard work from Tammy Robinson at Tighten, we got #1 in there a few weeks back, and she's just about done implementing Nohemi Olvera's design, so we'll have #2 any day now!

You don't have to wait, though—check it out now at https://onramp.dev/

Live streams

I've picked up live streaming again. Right now I'm streaming every Friday at 11am eastern. You can see links to all of my old videos and links to subscribe to my Twitch and YouTube channels here:

Ask Matt

I also recorded a few other videos, but the biggest series I did was called "Ask Matt", a short weekly-ish video where y'all ask me questions and I answer them.

I've taken a short break because of COVID-19 but I'd be happy to pick it back up. If you've got a topic for me, send it on over!

So. Much. Other. Content.

It's been MONTHS—seven months, almost—since my last newsletter. SO, this section is going to be bigger this time. My apologies! :)

That's it for now!

I'm still trying to fine tune the best process for me to both share simple links and updates, like in this one, and also longer form writing, like in many previous newsletters. Feel free to respond to let me know what you do and don't like, but it's really on me to get my stuff together. Promise, I'll work on it.

Until next time...

Your friend,
Matt Stauffer
